Thunderbird supports some chat apps, but not WhatsApp, which apparently doesn't have an open API. So I'm moving to Thunderbird on the desktop, and K-9 on the Android, to see all my mailboxes in one place, and get rid of the three custom apps on Android. Another need is to see all my mailboxes in one place. Logging into multiple browser tabs every day on my desktop is a slight pain. One need is more space on my low-end smartphone with custom apps for GMail, Yahoo Mail and ProtonMail, a fair amount of space is taken up. In fact, I'm realizing extra security is fairly low on my list of needs. Unlikely, not worth worrying about, I guess. I like PM and trust the people, but it's not 100% fully secure, in that any time they wanted, they could serve a poisoned login page to me and grab my password. I've polled my family and friends a bit about this.
Using ProtonMail hasn't really paid off for me in any way, no one else I know is on there, no one I know does PGP mail.
